Where to eat and drink at Convenanza, Carcassonne
A working list, not a finished guide — built from the venue data behind tix8.uk's map, for anyone at the festival this September.
Eat, right by the gates (38)
Everything within about a quarter-hour's walk of the Cité. Mostly restaurants and cafés — this is a walled medieval town, not a food court, so expect table service more often than a quick counter.

Honest finding rather than a curated pick: there is exactly one bar inside easy reach of the Cité itself. Actual bars and pubs sit in the lower town, the Bastide, around Place Carnot — a real 20–25 minute walk, or a short taxi.

Pulled from OpenStreetMap venue data on 17 September 2026 via tix8.uk's own map — not a personally vetted guide, and OSM's coverage of opening hours and which places have quietly closed is patchy. If you're there and something's wrong, OSM is the thing to fix: openstreetmap.org. See the live map for anything opened since.
